Feràmia
Trance-rock noise
A dark and festive rock ritual, noisy and distorted. Incantations that spark a frantic journey into a world of forgotten Occitan creatures.
Like a pagan ritual in which the mass is performed backwards, roles are reversed: the saxophone and trumpet let out bestial roars, the bass growls and splits into guitar riffs, the drums become a many-voiced pack, while the vocals rant, tell stories or summon spirits.
These rituals and creatures, both laughable and frightening, are as loud and saturated as the walls of sound conjured by Psychotic Monks, as furious and on the verge of implosion as Rage Against the Machine’s riffs, or at times as incantatory as Jim Morrison’s strange ceremonies.
The beast, sometimes hunter, sometimes hunted; persecuted witch or defrocked priest, then leads us on a frantic, breathless chase towards another realm — one of trance and dance.
